The official residence of the former Qing Dynasty Tamsui Inspector General is located in a historic building in Tamsui District, New Taipei City, was taken over by our Customs after the recovery of Taiwan. It was temporarily inhabited by the last foreign Inspector General of Customs, Li Du. Therefore, the official residence of the Inspector General became well-known and gained popularity. In 1997, it was officially designated as a city monument and underwent research and restoration. Currently, the building along with its garden has been renovated and revitalized, becoming one of the fascinating landmarks on Tamsui Old Street.
