Among the 34 lighthouses under the jurisdiction of the former Directorate General of Customs, Ministry of Finance, the black-and-white striped Fugueijiao Lighthouse is located at the northernmost tip of the island of Taiwan and was completed in 1897. The height of Fugueijiao Lighthouse     tower is 14.3 meters. The focal height of the lighthouse is 31.4 meters from the sea level, and the nominal range is 26.8 nautical miles.

On January 1, 2013, the former Directorate General of Customs, Ministry of Finance was restructured as the Customs Administration of the Ministry of Finance, and the related navigation business of the lighthouses under its jurisdiction was transferred to the Taiwan Ports and Harbors Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation.
